![]() This is the sort of skill that serves a student well over their lifetime as they apply to colleges in a few years and then enter the workforce. The experience teaches students to think conceptually and creatively while appreciating the beauty in mathematics. Math+ position students to learn challenging, complex concepts and tackle novel problems that require outside the box thinking. Many 6th to 8th grade students are not conceptually challenged in school and spend most of their time learning skills (e.g., multiplication, spelling), not concepts. The Math+ program offers several significant advantages to participants. ![]() While each of the six courses connect to one another, there are no prerequisites for any course and students can join the two-year cycle of courses at any time. Each season, participating schools offer one Math+ course for interested students. Each Math+ course focuses on one critical, high-level mathematics concept: Infinity, Number Theory, Probability, Proofs and Logic, Applied Number Theory and Geometry. ![]() Math+ presents these topics in an accessible and engaging way for 6th to 8th grade students. The concepts explored are University-level topics not typically included in the traditional elementary or high school mathematics curriculum. Each course consists of six one-hour sessions. RedwoodPrep's Math+ program includes six separate courses focused on high-level math concepts including Infinity, Number Theory, and Probability.
